Design and manufacture of the units takes place at the company's head office and factory at Mona Vale, a short scenic drive along Sydney's northern beaches. With the latest computer aided design techniques, BMU engineers and production personnel work with the building's Architects, Project Managers and Building Contractors to fine tune the design specifications prior to manufacture. All construction is carried out on the premise under strict quality control guidelines and in accord with AS2990, AS3901 and AS1904. The units are loaded and despatched to the site and hoisted into position. They are then tested to full operational status.

Building Maintenance Units (Aust) Pty Ltd is also responsible for maintenance of the units themselves, ensuring they continue to remain functional and operationally safe.
