Description of the Art Storage System The system is either referred to as an Art Racking Storage System or alternatively as a 'Compactus' Art Storage System because of the necessity to fully utilise available or allocated space. It consists of multiple parallel suspended panels that have wire mesh attached to both sides for hanging the artwork. The panels are suspended via precision bearing trolley units that offer smooth vibration free travel when drawing the panel into the access aisle. A typical sized system would consist of 20 panels each beigin 3 metres long x 2.5 meters high and giving a storage area of 300m² and only using a floor area of 9 mteres x 4 metres = 36m² floor area with a required ceiling height of 3 metres. But we have designed and installed systems as small as 30sqm and upto 3000sqm of storage area.
